I didn't know until the week "Rumours" came out. I was 14. Buckingham's a local, born in Palo Alto, went to M-A, then SJSU. He was a swimmer, from a family of swimmers. His brother Greg swam for Stanford and won a silver medal in the 200 IM in Mexico.
