Okafor wasn’t highly regarded going into his Sr year which why no one signed him in The November signing period.

I can't believe Jim Morgan was a Top 100 recruit. I don't think I've ever seen a guy more unable to finish! I had always assumed he was just some big body Stanford got because nobody wanted him. It was so frustrating seeing Keefe get no help from anybody else inside.

Emeka Okafor ended up as #99 in the class of 2001 final ranking, after being unranked in the summer ranking. His highest rating was #77 by Dave Telep.
As I recall, his talent was evident, but Okafor was so into school and so apparently indifferent to basketball and the basketball world that scouts were concerned that he would not prioritize basketball enough to realize his potential.
