Curious addendum: Stanford's the only unbeaten against the spread in the Pac-12, and one of only five BCS teams to remain unbeaten against the spread. (the others?: Florida, Baylor, GA Tech, and Rutgers). Last year we started 2-1 against the spread.
Anyway, these factoids may explain why the opening line is -22.5 versus UCLA.
