BTW, with respect to Crawford, he's actually doing quite well. Had a slow start, but he's hitting .265 for August, slash line of August is .265/.357/.408/.765. His 2020 totals are quite close to his career averages, and his August averages are considerably above those. His fielding average this year is .973, compared to a .975 career average. Some say he's lost a step, but his 9 inning range factor is above the league average by close to the same as his career average, virtually identical. # of double plays down only slightly, and frankly, that's because someone other than Scutaro, Panik or Theriot is at 2B, IMHO. Runs scored, about the same, on average. RBI's way down, about half of normal. OBP exactly career average of .316.
In other words...Crawford's production is not materially different than it has been in any other year, particularly if he keeps his August numbers through the rest of the season. He's not the problem.
