tough loss.  Game changed in B2, when Giants, already up 3-0, had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs (maybe 1) with 2-3 hitters coming up . . . and they fail to score.  Rockies systematically come back to take a 4-3 lead, only to have Belt tie it with 8th inning leadoff dinger.  but then nothing.

Slater ends game grounding into DP with runner on third.  Ouch!

I predict Padres take at least 3 of 4 and Giants are out (actually think Giants need to take 3 of 4, which is highly unlikely, given Padre ownage).

P.S.  Great play by Story in B10 to keep Rockies in game.  Bases loaded; 1 out; Rockies put a fifth infielder in the game and bring infield semi-in.  Longo hits a rocket into "the hole" and Story manages to spear a short hop (which had his back to home plate).  From his knees/backside, he makes throw home for a force out.  (Ball was hit so hard, I actually think he could have gone to third, then to first, for a DP . . . but whatever.  Great play regardless).

Incredibly frustrating. I still remember when the Rockies went 0-13 vs Atlanta (including losing 4 on final weekend) in ‘93.  Helping Atlanta get past a 103 win Giants team.

Had a feeling after they only had 3 runs through 2 innings.  Had chance for 5 or 6.

Work cut out for them now. Just hoping Pads are completely looking ahead to playoffs.

Too true.  And too bad.  Third highest OPS on a team with very high OPS among Giant hitters.  He'd be #16 in the league, just ahead of Bryce Harper if he had enough ABs.
