I beat you to it in the thread that Phogge lamented that Stanford was slipping behind Cal because they had gotten a Nobel in Chemistry for Doudna's work on CRISPR-Cas9.
In the end, we beat Cal 3-1, garnering two Nobels in Econ and the Literature prize (sort of; Glück was a visiting professor).

Ahem, you can call it 3-0 if you'd like. Doudna is Pomona '85 and a former Trustee. Despite her research having occurred at Cal, we firmly reject their claim to her success. We have claimed Doudna's achievements in honor of the great and glorious bird, Cecil Sagehen.
