Another short-handed game for us. Will we have the magic again?

AZ's 5 turnovers have kept us in this game. Tied at 13.
Somehow we're staying with them and it's tied at 19 with 7:29 to play in the 1st half.
And we surge to a 5 point lead with 3:53 to play in the 1st. 4-8 from 3 is nice. Our D is playing their azzes off.
Still a 5 point lead with 50 seconds to go in the half. Gutsy play by the Card.
At the half we lead by 4. We had a bunny to make it 6, but Kisunas couldn't finish.

I have to admit that even when we were up 29-22, I expected to be trailing at the half. Zona scored 6 in a row, but we are up 33-29 at the half.
Happily surprised to be up, but I'm not expecting (but hoping for) a win tonight.

We're shooting a respectable 46%/44% to AZ's 44/33. Jones and Da Silva have 2 fouls each, which is a bit worrisome.

I’m impressed. Love the all out defense, the double teaming yet flying to the ball after a pass
Offense better than I excepted

Taitz is 2-2 from 3. Maybe we should bring him back in the game.
And that is just what happened, but he missed a 3.
Almost halfway through the second we are clinging to a 1 point lead. AZ is draining 3s. Defense is still playing outstanding.

Zona on a 9-0 run to take a 5-point lead. Can we overcome this with some 10 minutes left?
Surprisingly, we've stayed close with only two guards, both frosh, available.
We went on a 6-0 run to retake the lead, and Zona answers with their own 6-0 run to get the lead back up to 5 at the under 8 minute timeout.
Stanford with another 6-0 run to take a 1 point lead.

Delaire with 19 points. We take a 7 point lead with 3 min to play. GO CARD!
6 point lead with 1:05 to play. We have the ball.
We're gonna win it! Up 7 with the ball and 35 seconds.

Up 7 with 36 second left. That should be enough, but I won't be relaxed until the final buzzer sounds.

FRUSTRATING GAME for Wildcats in Tucson. Dribbled it away.
Solid Cardinal defense in last 5 minutes to close out the Big Road Win.
Up to 10-5 -- critical Bubble win.

Tough tough tough defense. Gotta love O'Connell. He had 14 points and zero turnovers. Just WOW!

Holy H*ll - way to hang in guys!!! Almost died when Haase brought Oscar back in with 3+ to go but it paid off. Wish we'd made a few more FTs in that span but, oh well
.. LOVING IT - beat the Solar Satan's!!!

Amazing win tonight. I kinda ruled it out, figuring on the road against a good team after a big win would translate to a loss. Just beat ASU and all will be fine, I told myself. Leave it to this gutsy team to take this into their own hands.
I still can't believe O'Connell runs the offense like a seasoned vet. So pleased to see Delaire's and Spencer's respective games take off this season. Loved the defense and tenacity.
These guys just kept coming back, creating turnovers and then great shots. Such a fun team to watch.
Hats off to Coach and his staff for getting this team to where it's at, in spite of crazy circumstances and tough odds.

Delaire gets the game ball from me. Kisunas *earning* his minutes. We all love O'Connell.
The team believes, and so do I.

A LOT to like about this team and the mental toughness of the players. Delaire is growing up before our eyes -- He was a rock star tonight. Kasunas looks like a different player from just a month ago. He even looks bigger and more athletic than earlier in the season. O'Connell reminds me of Chris Hernandez -- smart, steady, never misses a free throw. Or commits a turnover. Missing three starters, and we win in Tucson for the first time in how many years? Amazing!
Seems to me that if all the players suited up from both teams showed up one afternoon at the YMCA to play shirts and skins, most of the top 10 chosen would be Arizona players. But in a setting in which defense -- individual and team -- carries the day, you'd pick mostly the Stanford guys.
