Stanford leads a strong field after day one at -5. Only four of the 28 teams entered are under par, and only 14 of 146 players are under par.

Prior to the 2017-18 renovations of the bunkers (and irrigation system), many more teams and players were under par - closer to half the field.

Will be interesting to see how the women do next month with Pac-12s and in May with NCAA Regionals.

ASU now leads Stanford by 5 after being only one of two teams under par today.

5 shots is nothing in college golf. Should be an interesting battle tomorrow, with the teams being paired together.

Only 15 out of 146 players under par. Course must be set up really tough.

Strong showing for the Cardinal!

Stanford finished 2nd to #8 ASU among 28 teams entered. Four of five players on the roster finished in the top 20.

This may have been the last appearance on the roster for David Snyder, who hasn't played well this year and ballooned on Saturday with an 82.

The biggest winner was the course. Only two teams finished under par, and only 20 out of 145 players finished even par or better.
