Colorado administrators, when they announced their acceptance of the Pac-10 invitation, said going in a southern division with the Los Angeles schools was an absolute must because of all the Colorado alumni living in Southern California. Now read an excerpt from a story in the Boulder newspaper:

There are 35,595 CU alumni living in the Pac-10 states, according to the Alumni Association. That compares with 10,987 in the Big 12 states.

So, if half those alumni live in Southern California, Colorado gets an annual game in Los Angeles on the basis of 18,000 alumni?
