That seems really good. Like top class in the country good. Is Evens the sort of difference maker that is so far ahead of everyone else as a freshman (like Catarina Macario) or is she merely really good.

Always hard to tell from hs rankings. Ironically, macario wasn't as heralded coming in as her classmates haley and Pickett but obviously well exceeded her recruiting profile. We have had other great top ranked recruits, like Andi Sullivan and Sophia Smith. We have also had others like Astrid Wheeler who hasn't played much.

Like a number of sports played by those of HS Age rankings are based on Travel plsy which is a much higher level than HS. Just saying your point is excellent of course

I wonder how these class rankings are calculated. Over at BRO Other Sports, in a thread on a possible (actual?) departure of their WSoc coach Cromwell to the NWSL, it was claimed that UCLA has the #1 incoming 2022 recruiting class (but without naming names).

5, 11, 15, 17, 20, 23, 25. Wow
Stanford already has a commit for 2024 from Alyssa Thompson, the Gatorade national player of the year.

Her younger sister Gisele (a freshman) has also committed to Stanford.

New conference motto. PAC-12, not just a women’s basketball conference.

Is that UCLA number for 2022 or 2023, because 1, 3, 9, 14, and 29 is more “wow”.

Very impressive group of women coming to Stanford to study and play soccer. Here are some highlights:
Jasmine Aikey (MF) -- Guided squad to ECNL U17 national championship in 2021 (All American).
Elise Evans (D) -- No. 1 recruit in Class of 2022 according to Top Drawer Soccer.
Lumi Kostmayer (F) -- 2nd highest league (Development Academy) goal scorer in 2019-2020.
Allie Montoya (F) -- 2021 ECNL Player of the Year
Amalie Pianim (F) -- Helped team to the 2018 and 2021 ECNL national championship.
Logan Smith (D) -- 4 time national champion in cross country skiing and state champion in track and field. 2020-21 Gatorade Player of the Year finalist.
Freya Spiekerkoetter (D) -- Selected for USWNT U20 Training Camp in October 2021.
Boy am I bullish on Stanford women's soccer. Can't wait to see them in action.

Perhaps they were worried about the torn ACL she had in HS. Or perhaps it was because, unlike Kuhlmann, Macario didn't have US Youth National team experience (because she wasn't eligible yet).(11-29-2021, 10:14 PM)BostonCard Wrote:(11-29-2021, 02:48 PM)BobK Wrote: National Rankings
