I bought Chrysler when the Commies invaded Afghanistan in 1980. They had a plant that could be converted to a large tank assembly line. All in all made some money. Bought gold at the same time but held on too long. Taught me a lesson to be frugal.

ACK! I bought a sh!tload of Mexican gold coins (50-peso pieces) and did the same thing. Fun to show my pals the coin collection, however. When they were sky-high (the value of the coins AND my friends).
