Well, in the immortal words of Billy Madison, I hope she finds what she is looking for.
Here's my reference, if anyone was wondering.

wow, so much for the notion of going to a lower program so you can get playing time.

Curious. If the defections of Peat and Jones reflect poorly on Shaw, what about these?

In the case of Brown who by passed Sr day my guess not getting into grad school or not cleared to play
Jana is the third undergrad transfer from WBB in about 24 years and maybe more

Actually sad news about Jana. At one point she seemed on track to inherit Stanford's PG position. She had a pretty hot hand at shooting the threes and had a upbeat motor. We saw her struggle at times, but we could chalk that up to experience. In the end, she really didn’t seem to spark the support of the coaching staff. Then the Cardboard Rumor mill started to churn out sympathy, stories, and rebuttals, but they are now irrelevant.
In the end it seems like she wanted acknowledgment and playing time. I hopes she gets both in her new home. And I hope one or more of our players this year rise to expectations, and to the occasion, and become a first rate point guards. It seems a bit iffy at this point that a freshman can come in and command the respect to start, so we will see how Tara crafts the lineup. We might even get another big surprise in the next few days and get a replacement on the open market.

If you read anything I wrote during the season, you could tell I had hopes she would emerge as the answer at point guard. Never happened. She did not play much and when she did, it was often at the 2. Given that the team was struggling to sort out the point guard spot for much of the year, it was clear the coaches did not rate her that highly. If they had, she would have played a lot more. I never saw anything that made me think aha, that's the point guard we need, I was just hoping that was the case.
Obviously I know nothing about the plans for the guard spots next season. Does seem like she would have had a very good shot at more playing time. Would she be the 30 minute a game starter we would like to have? Doubt that. Almost all our better point guards were showing signs and playing a lot by their soph year, and Jana was not doing that even with two players somewhat out of position in front of her. But she could have expected a real chance to grab that job or at least as the first back-up off the bench. That she chose to try her luck at Baylor I find odd. Seems like a poor fit to me, although new coach last season so maybe my thoughts are out of date or the coach is changing their style. I would have thought she would do better in a system type program.
Also I do need to say I just don't care anymore. If players leave, good luck, bye. I did not get into this fan thing to root for players all over the place at teams I don't care for. I will root for the ones that choose the team I root for, and if a few go, I will wish them well but I am not rooting for them particularly. If the portal craziness stays as it is for the foreseeable future, I may just stop caring at all. Musical chairs rosters are not for me.

Baylor's top assists leader this year was a grad student, but Andrews and Asberry are left who each had a 2:1 ratio as well as 39% and 36% three point shooting, respectively.
I think JVG would have had more playing time at Stanford than at Baylor. I don't get it. Unless Andrews and Asberry are in the portal....

Be careful, this type of comment on a WBB thread may be brutally attacked. IMO neither Jenna or Jana would start at Stanford next season.
While many fans believe Jana might have been a starter my guess is she decided the odds were against it. If Jana thought there was a good chance she would start, my guess is she would stay on the farm and get a Stanford degree. I highly doubt Jana would transfer to Baylor if she was told playing time is unlikely. Obviously this is just a guess as other Cardboard fans seem to also be giving opinions based on guesses.
In three years of high school ball Jenna scored over 1,700 points and one season averaged 24 points/game. Getting little playing time while at Stanford would be a humbling experience. I can understand the desire for a new start at another program.
In today's world there is no real penalty for transferring and it has become acceptable to go where someone tells you playing time might be available. I don't see any negative reflection on the Stanford program. Now if players like Brink and Demetre were to transfer that would be a different story.

Cowboy Indian is a great poster for the record.
My guess is Haley is the Point Guard and that was said to Jana. But we will see come november.
And for the other record I think Jana would have played alot. Of course Tara gets to decide. :)

Except nobody was attacking anyone or doing anything other than giving their thoughts. I don't know, maybe kinda wait and see if anything is actually attacked before pissing on the board as likely to attack?
I am getting tired of this place. It is not what it used to be. I think I may stop posting. Doubt anyone will miss me. See you all next year, maybe.

Peat and Jones elected to go so as Curley Bill said to Wyatt, "Bye."
I hope they all have nice lives but at the SC game this season I hope the infant defense buries Jones. And Williams and the rest of the third best pro team in LA.

Lots of speculation going on here. One more bit, pure speculation based on no inside info at all -- is Harriel better than we're all realizing, Jana seeing her in practice all season and realizing that she would be a potential serious competitor for playing time at pg?

Well... I did not see that coming. Stanford to Baylor is about as much of a 180 culturally as you can do - way more so, I think, than even BYU or Notre Dame. Hope she finds what she's looking for...
