Stanford was her first choice for much of her prep career.  I heard two stories about why she didn't end up here.

1.) While she had good SAT scores, they weren't quite good enough to be admitted.  Her GPA was great.

2.) Dunning recruited her and said she would have a fair chance at playing OH but he would ultimately choose the best players for the two OH positions.  That was fine with her.  When Dunning retired, Hambly told her she would be a libero at Stanford and OH wasn't realistic. She decided to look at other options.

IMO she would have been a game changer of immense proportions if she was at Stanford.  There's no doubt in my mind she would have ended up at OH with the Stanford team.

Scenarios if Nuneviller had come here and been allowed to compete for an OH position:
Nuneviller would have competed against McClure her first two seasons (2018, 2019) for one of the OH positions, the other being occupied by Plummer. Would have been an interesting competition as both were smaller OH's with excellent all-around games. We did OK in '18 and '19, winning NC's both times with McClure at OH.
Don't know what impact Nuneviller might have had in 2020, as that was a lost season due to inability to practice, COVID, and injuries. Was that season beyond salvaging?
We certainly could have used someone like her in 2021, when we desperately needed a 6-rotation with good ball-control skills.
As for this year, we again would have two smaller, good-ball-control OH's (Nuneviller and Rubin). Would Hambly go with two smaller 6-rotation OH's or pick one of them and have Baird be the other OH?

That's an excellent analysis ca245.  I agree 100%.  2021 (last year) would have been the season Nuneviller could have made a big difference.  But we weren't going to make the final four under any scenario so it probably wouldn't have mattered.  Her decision worked out the best for both sides.

Such a supremely HIGH-ENERGY teammate on the court....Frankly, that's what Stanford sorely missed 
and really needed since their 2016-2019 jaggernaut years (which was really only 2 years)...
