I think Stanford fans were more or less used to coaches coming in here, having some success and then taking off for a perceived better position. It happened with Ralston, Walsh, Green, Willingham, so I don't think people were too surprised when Harbaugh did it also. From what I understand, Harbaugh's personality rubbed some people the wrong way, so perhaps some weren't too disappointed when he left.
Shaw, on the other hand, was willing to stay around after he was successful so I always liked him because of that. His time has clearly passed, so I hope he and the Stanford powers-that-be are willing to see that and take appropriate action.
