Sonny Dykes has never generated any kind of a functional defense. Offense galore, yes. Defense, no. This year he is benefiting from a pretty good defense that he inherited from the previous regime. This is his year to make hay, because if history is a guide the defense will go downhill fast. He may have developed the sense to find a good DC and let him do his thing, but recruiting defense requires a focus that I see no way Dykes can bring. Now or never IMHO.
