US basketball training for Senegal cancelled after [some] visas rejected
That's the women's basketball team.
Senegal was not among the the (first?) 12 countries whose travel to the US was restricted. Note that this travel was for training, not for a competition.
In the 2025 WNBA draft, "The New York Liberty drafted French Senegalese center Adja Kane as the final overall pick."
(If you're trying to remember, the youngest Ogumike played for Nigeria at one point.)

Senegal has one of the best women's basketball teams in Africa - consistently reaching the final four in AfroBasket tournaments and boasting players from top leagues in the US, Europe and Egypt.
