Behind a paywall. Most interesting points I saw:
- Pac-12 teams received $30.1 million each, except for OSU and WSU, the two remaining Pac-12 schools, which received $46.6 million each. This was in part because WSU and OSU directed more funds to operations and legal fees. Otherwise, the distribution would have been $36.6 million each without the settlement.
- By comparison, the Big Ten distributed $63.2 mms. per school, the SEC did $52.5 mms., the ACC did mid-$40 mms., and the Big 12 teams averaged $40 mms.
- Legal fees were up to $11.8 mms. from $6.7 mms., quelle surprise.
- Former commissioner Kliavkoff (must be Russian for "thief") received $3.7 mms. in compensation. He and predecessor Larry Scott took home $40 mms. over 15 years.
- Comcast discovered overpayments to the colleges and recouped by withholding payments to the Pac-12. Conference executives were aware of the overpayments, but had allowed them to continue in prior years. That explains a $37 million drop in revenue.
- Lots of other unnecessary costs; e.g., $25.8 mms. on independent contractors for "Production Studio Buildout" as they vacated downtown SF offices, two year total cost of $30 mms. That's in addition to $75 million in rent over the 11 year stay on Third Street in SF.
