Without more bonehead moves to go with the recent one, the question of how Shayne Skov will be able to play a part next September will have much more to do with his recovery, or not, from the knee injury than suspension for two games (unless something other than that). Around 30 years ago S.U. had it's best middle linebacker in Dave Wyman probably since Jeff Siemon. But he had a knee injury late in his S.U. career and didn't ever seem to be the same. U. Washington lost a dominating middle linebacker in practice before their 1985 Orange Bowl, Joe Krakowski. Not much was heard of him after that. Then again, are there many examples of players recovering more or less fully from a bad knee injury and not going on to sustain further injuries? How much has medicine improved to make it more likely for injured players to return to pre-injury capabilities?
