When you get what might be considered fawning press for someone, I am often skeptical as to whether the person is genuinely as nice/saintly/etc. as advertised. In Andrew Luck's case, I believe he is based on my daughter's personal experience. My daughter went to Stanford and played on the club volleyball team. She had sprained her ankle and was on crutches. As she approached an academic building trying to juggling her backpack and crutches to open the building door, Andrew (who had been 15-20 feet behind her) saw her struggle and ran up to open the door for her and hold it while she entered. No cameras or reporters were around, no one took notice, but that's the kind of spontaneous act of kindness not done for recognition that makes me think he really is the genuine article.
