Many Pac-12 lurkers may question the scoring system and the final results, but look beyond Stanford and the system's ability to select the best becomes clear.

Top SEC school - Florida - And how many really question Florida as the #1 AD in the SEC?
Top BigTen School - Ohio State - The BigTen media is full of programs trying to keep up with tOSU, so that fits.
Top Big 12 School - Texas - Really is there another AD in the Big12?
Top ACC School - Florida State - with UNC, Duke and Virginia close behind.  All of those look OK too
Top Big East School - Notre Dame - Few in the BigEast seem to try beyond MBB, so this is also logical

So for every other BCS conference the top finisher is a program, if not THE program, that most casual fans believe has a strong AD in that conference.

So congrats to all of the conference winners!

Unbelievably they were the #1 seed for the tournament in 2012.  IF Yvonne ever needed proof of the importance of SEC money and power I should have referenced U of Florida and this WLax program.  That is amazing.

They hired a coach in 2007 and gave her a few years to organize the program before they started in 2010.  $$$$$
With the coach in place, the school built a special Lacrosse stadium and a dedicated practice field.  $$$$$$
Florida's honors in its three year history include #1 rankings, top NCAA tournament seed, and the nation's top ranked recruiting class.

They are already getting NACDA points, and they seem well on their way to getting the SEC's first NCAA lacrosse title.  Bet those UF types are a little peeved that Bama beat them in softball.

Sure, but the trend is OBVIOUS.

SEC BCS football domination is creating so much conference wealth that the programs are all getting better in sports that were not even sports of interest in the conference 10 years ago (ie, softball & lacrosse).  Stanford has tried for two decades to get lacrosse respect, and in just two years Florida has become THE program in the country.  In Eastern high schools lacrosse has a ton of crossover to field hockey.  UF does not have a field hockey team, but if they did I would believe now that they would be in the top 5 in no time.  Their lacrosse coach, coincidentally played FH in college.  Hmmmm....  Add mens lacrosse and womens field hockey to the UF mix, or a better football season, and their NACDA total becomes impressive.

All of that would not be possible without SEC football TV revenue.  Giving Title IX love is respectable.  IMHO.  So not hating at all.

Once upon a time, I thought the school that would break the Stanford NACDA streak would be UCLA.  Was there really any other possibility?  Now, my guess is that either Florida (with the SEC BCS money), or Texas (with their Longhorn money), will break through.

Then there was Bama.  Bama was not THAT far away from getting 4 NCAA Team titles this year.  That type of NCAA team title domination used to be reserved for UCLA and/or Stanford only.  And of course, Bama won this other thing called football. Amazing.

I would take Bama 3 NCAA + Football, over Stanford's 2 NCAA + a haul of 6th - 10th place finishes.  Just saying.

I do think the $EC is increasing its competitiveness in multiple sports, but that seems to be specific per school.  I note the second-highest $EC school was LSU, which checked in at #13, about 340 pts behind Florida, so perhaps the conference as a whole isn't about to catch up, but it never hurts to keep an eye over one's shoulder.  (Note well, incoming athletic director!)

Florida won't be scoring 100 points in baseball--they were eliminated by Kent State!  But it looks like they're currently 11 pts ahead of #2 LSU for first place in the Capital One Cup.  The Stanford men are 11th with 54.5 points, which is exactly 6.5 pts ahead of 12th-ranked kal  :P

Who had a better Capital One season than Stanford?  North Dakota State, Loyola-Marymount, and Kentucky, among others.  Texas was ranked #14th with 42 pts.  Sam Houston State checks in at #20, ahead of #23 NIPS (3 schools tied for #20), and #24 Texas A&M.  Hilarity ensues.
