1. I've been more entertained by watching paint drying
2. If anyone didn't think Luck was special, last night should have changed their mind. To think that we took the Fiestra Bowl ball out of his hands at the end still infuriates me.
3. Note the same David Shaw pattern just before the end of the first half: when we get within view of the opponent's endzone, go conservative; run, let the clock run down, and try a field goal. I was furious even though it was made this time.
4. The play calling, except for the early reverse, STUNK! (On that reverse someone out in front of Patterson missed the key block bigtime.)
5. Nunes is not bad but neither is he impressive. I can't believe Nottingham isn't better. Nunes release point doesn't seem high, thus a couple of his passes were blocked.
6. Williamson's leg strength has improved, but I'm not sure his directionality has. Even the PATs were pulled to the left. Bodes ill for longer crunch-time FGs later on.
7. The O line SUCKED. San Jose stuffed us time after time on 3rd down. Yet Shaw kept going to the well.
8. Give the D in H2 lots of credit, even as I don't give the O a cyntilla of credit in the last three quarters. Even the first TD was tough to get from the 2 yard line. Nothing came easy to the O.
9. All in all, I was mightly disappointed and bored. I left at half.
10. Nice touch: the scoreboard didn't work re giving us the O rushing and passing totals.
11. For the year, I'm predicting 6-6 or 7-5. Nausea.
P.S. I liked Amanem, both his play and the interview he gave Platz afterwards. Impressive guy. Was in one of my classes last year. Good guy.Â
