The hit by Lynch around the 8 minute mark of that video is one of my favorite Stanford sports memories. I just remember the entire stadium erupting as the toss-sweep equivalent of student body right got blown up.

Even though it's been 20 years, I've got to believe the shock waves that resulted from that Lynch tackle haven't yet fully dissipated...

Let's not forget the moment that The Bus was introduced to John Lynch

That was a good day. My friends and I watched that from an apartment in Menlo Park and we didn't pee the entire game so that we wouldn't jinx the team. You're welcome.

First Stick at the 6:38 mark and then an even better one at 7:40.
Every time I see John Lynch, I think of this game. I like to imagine that Ronnie Lott was watching this game and got so PO'd after the second hit that he broke his hand trying to punch out the Tommy T.r.o.j.a.n. statue.
Here's hoping Shayne is channeling John on Saturday.
GO STANFORD!!!

Viking Guy, that hit by John Lynch at the 7:40 mark is also one of my favorite Stanford sports memories. My friend and I were in college at the time and were sitting directly even with the line of scrimmage when Lynch came flying in to make the hit. I remember letting out a primal scream and the two small children sitting in front of us turned around and looked at me like I was crazy.
My two children gave me the same look a few hours ago after I screamed when Barkley's last pass fell incomplete sealing the win. Coming full circle tonight!

Lots of Lynch-esque hits tonight from the DBs. An all-around magnificent defensive effort.

The DBs get an A- from me because they GOT IT DONE. I feel like most of Draco Malfoy's sacks were just good-enough coverage sacks combined with right-there pressure. Thank you defense!
Next time, don't blow the tackle on the underneath route...visions of Justin Blackmon at the Fiesta Bowl danced in front of my eyes when that happened.
A+ to Derek Mason for being aggressive and rushing the passer at the end of the game. None of that prevent defense business. This defense shut down a Voldemort-candidate QB, so Stanford is pretty well-equipped for the rest of the season...we'll see about Oregon though.
