The Bootleg is in the throes of a conversion to the new "foxsportsnext.com" web site today. It seems to be going poorly. The site is either extremely slow or unavailable. The graphic design for foxsportsnext.com was done by someone who loves giant black capital letters in a sans-serif font, surrounded by lots of whitespace. Yuck.
Bootie teething pains

Yes...it is tooth-drillingly, excruciatingly slow, cumbersome, inelegant and unwieldy. WTF were they thinking?

They're not making everyone re-register, are they? I have a dusty, old free account there...the password to which I'm not sure I remember.

If you thought the censor function here was dumb, try talking about Aziz Shittu on the Bootie. His name gets censored to **bleep**tu. ::)

Yeah, but our censor filters could have punished Ty Montgomery for his recent pass catching troubles!

That launch has not exactly gone as intended. Booties are posting on two different board systems now, at about a 2 to 1 ratio in favor of the new board. A lot of them, especially their premium subscribers, are still experiencing unresolved issues. A few of them are actively taking the position to stay on the old board system as long as they can.
Just a colossal bungle by FOX Sports, and by extension Microsoft above them. The whole process is so typical of Microsoft software engineering. For several years they haven't even pretended to be in touch with the common people. It is no wonder that Apple has sailed past them in market share.

What does Microsoft have to do with Fox Sports? It is owned by News Corp's Digital Media Group, formerly Fox Interactive Media.

Good question, but both the old and new Bootie come with an MSN bar at the top, etc. So Microsoft is involved somehow. Possibly just as a contractor.

MSN, Microsoft's web portal, doesn't have their own sports site, so they send the traffic to Fox Sports and provide the ad content via the Microsoft ad network. Otherwise, they are fairly independent. For all Microsoft's faults, I'm pretty sure you can't blame them for this one.
