Short interview w/ Ron George...a walk-on who starred at linebacker for the Denny Green/Bill Walsh teams in the early '90's and played 8 years in the NFL.  A coaching career collapsed across the Bay in part due to falling player academic performance.  George describes what happened in just the opposite environment.  It's the antidote.  What an impressive guy and an impressive story.

Holy crap.  Send that link to every Stanford recruit and parent of one! 

I don't know if I've ever been more impressed by an interview.  Any recruit who sees that video and prefers to go to a school over Stanford because it puts 100,000 people in its football stadium and Stanford doesn't, needs to watch it.

Wow, completely agree with OutsiderFan.
A transfer walk-on that gets to be all-American, play in the NFL for 8 years, speak like Cicero, and then, comes back, and lavishes Stanford with praise to the Heavens. It is so perfect it almost looks computer-generated!
When I heard him speak, I could not help remembering the interviews in the last Voldemort trophy ceremony with Honey Badger and Richardson, when sometimes you were not sure if they were actually speaking English (slight exaggeration here, but still...).

For those who did not get to see #29 in action, Ron George was probably the most outstanding edge-rushing LB in recent Stanford history before Chase Thomas.  He owns the school record in TFLs and is 2nd in career sacks.  He arrived at Stanford as a transfer from the Air Force Academy and became a leader on one of Stanford's best defenses ever.  The 1992 team included George, John Lynch and Darrien Gordon.

He seems to be an even better person than he was a football player.  thanks for posting, Redrum!

Wow. Impressive hardly captures it. People like Ron George and Cory Booker make it very easy to be a fan of Stanford football.

And yeah, if any recruit watches that video and still doesn't want to come to Stanford, we probably didn't want them anyway.
