I know there are some examples of amazing interim coach stories, but generally I think it is better to let the coach stay for the full year especially since basketball offers so many chances to turn a bad season into an OK season.
The massive Galen center was virtually empty, so SC had to do something. At least Maples is smaller, so it does not look as bad even if there are only 3,000 people at the game.
It will not be my money on the line to payout Dawkins. Still, Dawkins does not appear to be the short, medium or long term answer for Stanford basketball. And it is worth pointing out that if he does manage a miracle turn around over the next season or two, then he would likely go to Duke in the next 3-5 years.
