Quote:The 2013 Rose Bowl Game Presented by VIZIO, in which No. 6 Stanford defeated unranked Wisconsin 20-14, earned a 9.6 overnight, the highest on cable television outside of ESPNs NFL games since the 2012 Bowl Championship Series National Championship. The telecast is down 3 percent from a 9.9 rating for last years game, which saw No. 5 Oregon defeat No. 10 Wisconsin 45-38 in the highest scoring Rose Bowl Game ever.

I must say, I'm a bit surprised there wasn't a measurable drop in the Rose Bowl viewership. I thought the country would be totally disinterested in watching Stanford play an unranked Wisonsin that "back doored" its way into the game. I think I saw somewhere that a media expert estimates that BCS bowl participation provides a university with more than $10M worth in free advertising. Stanford definitely received some good PR last night with the way the boys played and conducted themselves.
Now when will the verbal commitments from blue chip recruits start ramping up?
