Actually, BYU did play in Maples again in the early 80's, I think in a 4-team tourney, and we wound up not playing them either night.  Their star at the time was Timo Saarelainen, who wound up being the1985 WAC POY.  I still remember the female Cougar fans in the stands, transfixed by this tall blonde, Finnish baller-dude, plaintively wailing his name, "TIII-MO, TIII-MO!" every time he touched the rock    ::)
