Washington played an entire game tonight - they way they shredded the Cardinal D on several drives was eye-opening.Â
Oregon better be ready - Husky Stadium is going to be rocking and Washington doesn't want to lose to the Ducks 10 years in a row.

Guys we got the win! The thread title worked!
Hogan I think made a mistake on that 4th down play....he should not have bounced that outside. If he took one step outside, saw he had the room to make the first, and dove ahead, he definitely makes the first down.
Different ballgame in that situation.
Also can we all acknowledge that Wilkerson has skills? Some very nice runs tonight, outplayed Gaffney in my estimation.

I believe Wilk missed a block in pass pro, leading to a sack at some point. Nuh uh. Hogan didn't help as he was hesitant to throw pretty much all game...but ...sigh.

Hogan not as good as price? I don't buy that. Most their throws and catches seemed like amazing grabs barely in bonds or easy drops. Their receivers are really good, including tight ends. Hogan doesn't have the wr and te to make big plays like price. But hogan is a great match for our ultra conservative run the ball 300 Times a game offense. I dunno, game was frustrating but I'm not blaming Hogan until I watch the tape.

Just seemed like Hogan wasn't throwing "ahead" of the receivers, so the UW secondary was getting there early enough to disrupt passes. Also, I got the feeling that he wasn't comfortable throwing at 1-on-1 coverage...which he needs to do correctly to make plays (i.e. needs to put the ball quickly enough where only his man can get it).

Quite a few times when the Red Zone began the "GO" ..... "STANFORD" call and response thing, the rest of the Stanford fans around the stadium were silent. In my section I enthusiastically joined in, and then one other guy about 10 rows behind me joined in, and not a single other Stanford fan. It was as if they were saying "ah, let the young kids shout, we are too grown up for that."Â
The stadium did erupt when we got the interception. That was what the place should have sounded like more often. But when we gave it right back things quieted down again.
All in all, I was surprised that the game did not feel louder and noisier.

By the way, to underscore how well UW's been messing up opposing QBs. As you may know, ESPN's QBR has both a "raw" and and "adjusted" component; the adjustment is intended to capture opponent defensive strength.
So Hogan's raw QBR was 37.9...and his adjusted QBR was 77.9. So, hopefully UW's strength in the secondary so far this season is a real thing and helps us well better about Hogan's stinker of a performance yesterday.

In the second half I just wanted Shaw/Hogan to find a way to get the ball into Ty Montgomery's hands every play.
A friend of ours said on the way out of the game, "So that's how it feels to get our butt kicked but win the game." The way I look at it is that UW won the last 59+ minutes of the game, but fortunately we had gained an insurmountable lead in the first 12 seconds...

What happened to Cajuste? He was so good in earlier games, using his size and speed to get open. In fact, in some ways he was better than Montgomery.
But yesterday he seemed to completely disappear. Was he simply being covered by someone who could match up with him for the first time?

I thought Cajuste looked kind of open the few times he got some camera time last night. I don't know if Hogan had enough time to move on from his hesitant reads before getting flighty feet in the pocket though. Cajuste is functionally a Fleener minus 20lbs and should be used to abuse smaller DBs. He should be used as a safety blanket receiver if Kaumatule isn't ready to step into that role yet.

In my section (235) at least I thought the atmosphere/excitement was the best it has been this season. I find it fairly difficult to evaluate how loud the overall stadium is, because there is a lot of local bias, starting with the fact that I'm usually one of the first to be screaming.
There were some empty seats around us, and a few which were inhabited by dawgs, but nowhere near as bad as when Oregon or USC comes to town.
From a very practical perspective, it was difficult to keep the volume up on some of those final drives when we were either constantly giving up third down conversions (or 1st or 2nd down conversions in the hurry up, for that matter).
From my standpoint the most conspicuous block of empty seats (my perception is they got emptier after halftime) was the shady side midfield first-level seats, which are unfortunately right behind the player bench. I guess those fans show their $$$upport in other ways.
