At least that blog gave the Cardinal a little credit.  This one gives little and seems confident in a decisive Duck victory.

This season, The Cardinal face a rested, determined opponent instead of beat-up, worn-down, tentative one. The mindset is different. The level of readiness is improved. This is the best Oregon team ever, with the best opportunity in school history to win a national title.

If DAT is, indeed, nicknamed after the fast and deadly African viper,  his name is Black Mamba...rather than the cuddly and reassuring Black Momba.

I will feel better, though, if that misspelling came directly from the word processor of a rabid Oregon blogger rather than an erudite, dedicated Stanford fan.

Of course, Kobe Bryant of the NBA Lakers also calls himself "Black Mamba".  Perhaps the misspelling is to differentiate Thomas.  You know, just in case the basketball vet vs football college player thing wasn't enough ....

Black Momba doesn't really convey any meaning.  He might as well nickname himself Black Zeeblfxr45.  Oh, well.  at least I have my stereotype of Oregon fans confirmed, so I come out ahead.

(Thinking about it, having a star athlete deliberately choose a nickname like Zeeblfxr45 and actually insist that's how he wants people to identify him....that would be awesome performance art. I could respect that.)
