To me, there is no bigger void in Stanford's recruiting than finding a power-running RB, unless, Joey Alfieri is that guy.
Stanford needs a 220+ RB (like Royce Freeman) to really make hay as a power running team. Gerhart, Taylor, and Gaffney all were power backs. Taylor was a bit smaller at 215, but his compact size and big powerful legs made him able to push and carry for extra yards among the masses of humanity surging forward on power runs.Â
Is it possible for Stanford to flip any of the bigger backs in the 2014 class who have committed elsewhere?
