To me, there is no bigger void in Stanford's recruiting than finding a power-running RB, unless, Joey Alfieri is that guy.

Stanford needs a 220+ RB (like Royce Freeman) to really make hay as a power running team.  Gerhart, Taylor, and Gaffney all were power backs.  Taylor was a bit smaller at 215, but his compact size and big powerful legs made him able to push and carry for extra yards among the masses of humanity surging forward on power runs. 

Is it possible for Stanford to flip any of the bigger backs in the 2014 class who have committed elsewhere?

My first thought when watching Jack was about Alfieri. I also thought about Sean Barton, our recruit from last year's class who is on a Mormon mission now. His Youtube video as a RB is pretty impressive and I wondered even last year if the coaches might consider him at the position.

Hopefully he will show up next fall with no lingering effects from his injury.

Not that it matters but based on the highlights I have seen Freeman runs more like scat back than Gerhart/Gaffney/Taylor. Which makes sense considering he choose to play in Oregon's system
