That explains a great deal. It is also a very, very sad story.Â

"I reminisce of times when I was rehabbing shortly after my first reconstructive surgery, and how I literally had to learn how to walk all over again. I fear losing the ability to walk normally for the rest of my life.
Surgery is no longer an option for me to get, as surgery is generally for the removal of tissue, etc. whereas I don't have anything left to "remove." The procedure suggested to me by additional orthopedic surgeons is a regenerative procedure which would help my knee restore much of what it has lost."
As of this writing, Michelle is $3925 from her goal.Â

I believe Michelle graduated from Stanford with one year of NCAA eligibility remaining which she elected to complete in her home state of Utah? The story I heard was that Stanford didn't extend a fifth scholarship year but Tara made some calls to Utah on Michelle's behalf. Michelle also played overseas for two years, correct?Â
My reading of Michelle's letter is that she has insurance but that she is looking into an experimental "regenerative" procedure that isn't covered by her plan.

Michelle's campaign reached less than 10% of its $4,500 goal in its first 19 days. Since CompSci87 posted a link here two days ago, contributions have added more than 50% of the goal. She now stands just $1,630 from raising the entire amount needed for her treatment (which is not covered by insurance).
