Never have I been so embarrassed to have an athlete be identified as having come out of Stanford. Tiger's escapades might have been comparable, but this was so raw and I actually witnessed this. Classless does not totally capture it, but I am at a loss for words.

Have to agree. That was painful to watch - he needs to learn to shut the F-up. I understand it was heat of the moment, but come on, that was disgusting.

I turned it off after the interception. Was there anything beyond the choking motion he made?
I was watching the game with my son and pointing out Baldwin adn Sherman as they made impact plays. It was a great lesson at the end of the game that great players are not necessarily great people. In the end, he's human. He does some good (the work with kids in Compton) and some bad (the way he acted playing New England for example.)

That entire sound bite is an unfortunate moment of timing for Sherman and believe me, I am a big 49ers fan.
After a deep all out battle with the SF for brobdingnagian stakes Richard let his emotion get the best of him at the end of the game. Watching replays, he got into Crabtree's face just as the impact of this incredibly intense game was being decided. Certainly Crabtree wasn't going to give Sherman a hug in that situation. For whatever reason, that snapped Sherm and he took his anger to National TV.
I don't envy how he will have to deal with the national media hammering him the next 2 weeks-I hope he apologizes as soon as possible so he can move forward and concentrate on the biggest game of his life.Â
Right or wrong, I suspect it will be Seahawks that America is going to want to see lose Super Bowl XLVlll-makes me sad because Doug Baldwin was an absolute STUD in this the NFC championship.

Not that it justifies anything at all - but I think Sherman was responding to Crabtree's Thursday comments (http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/49ers-se...vs-sherman). It's also interesting how split Twitterverse is on Sherman. Half of Twitter is eating it up and loving Sherman - the other half is calling him classless.

I really didn't want to have to say this but I would be thrilled if Sherman tore an ACL. Normally I condemn cheering an injury but for Sherman and that behavior, I will make an exception.

It was rather classless, but it was enhanced by a complete lack of respect displayed by the 49ers for the best CB in the NFL, or at least their division.
In the post game Colin was very clear that it did not matter who was on Crab, he was going to throw it to him since the coverage was man to man, one on one. The best cover CB in the NFL usually gets more respect than that, especially if the CB is rather tall and the play in question is a fade route.
I wish Sherman was a bit more professional, but that is rare at the CB position. The differences between the best and the rest at that position is rather razor thin. Those that doubt their skills, or are polite and respectful, will find their way out of the league rather quickly. There is also a reason why you rarely get CBs in post-game interviews.

Yeah, it was classless, but it seemed to engender a disproportionate response from this board. I don't condone what Sherman did after the game was over, but his mouth is hardly unique for a pro sports player. They can't all be like Andrew luck.
As for crabtree and Sherman, let's just say they won't be exchanging christmas gifts. Crabtree's own locker room interview was the definition of sour grapes. To paraphrase,"sure Sherman made a nice play there, but that was his only play."
Of course, lost on the post game kerfuffle was the fact that it was an amazing, game-winning play. Too bad Sherman will be remembered for the aftermath.

Oh come on guys. I was on a plane and couldn't watch te second half of the game, but he's clearly just amped after winning. Sherman obviously isn't the most polished speaker in the world, but so what? He made a great play over a very good receiver who had previously been trashing him in public. What do you want him to do?
