Kind of ironic he ended up at Penn State. Also, I don't understand why they are mad text messages were missing from a phone. They can just get that from the phone company used. Or the NSA.

Vandenburg, from Indio, Calif., is charged along with Cory Batey, of Nashville; Brandon Eric Banks, from Brandywine, Md.; and Jaborian McKenzie, from Woodville, Miss.,on five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. Vandenburg also is charged with one count of unlawful photography and tampering with evidence.

Former Vanderbilt wide receiver Chris Boyd, 21, of Roswell, Ga., has pleaded guilty to an attempted cover-up of the rape in return for testimony against his former teammates.

Miles Finley, 20, of Bermuda Dunes, Calif., and Joseph Quinzio, 20, of Palm Desert, Calif., are charged with tampering with evidence.

That's downright terrible.  Also, why would prosecutors be deleting evidence?  Isn't it more likely that the evidence was deleted by co-conspirators in some cover-up effort and that prosecutors received exactly what they gave the defense attorneys?

I always wonder about the fellow thugs who  give testimony in exchange for a reduced or eliminated sentence.  How often do the people they testify against seek revenge more or less immediately upon their release?
