Speaking of nuns, what are your thoughts on Call the Midwife?

I am a self professed curmudgeon when it comes to wedding scenes (other than Visconti or Coppola wedding scenes) or wedding movies, and I can't abide birthing scenes of any type.  So I have never particularly been interested in the basics of life.

But this series (I am in part 2 on Netflix) is just freaking awesome.  It's so simple in many ways and I think that is why I like it.  Birth, death, love -- all done very simply and beautifully.  I can't believe how moving it all seems, and I think it is because after half a century I finally have the maturity of a 30 year old.



And Logan's Run's own Jenny Agutter walkingabout as a nun!



Anyway, I think it is almost an odd counterpoint to Mad Men.  Lots of style and terrific music, except most of the players aren't a-holes.  So far they are almost Walton-ish.
