This poll tells a very strong story. Stanford is ranked #16, ahead of Ohio State, and plays four higher ranked teams the rest of the way, plus the potential for a U$C re-match in the Pac-12 CG, for a fifth.
It stinks to lose the first test of the season, but there is a lot of football to be played and Stanford couldn't be in better position to be rewarded if it resolved its inconsistency issues on offense.

The Coaches poll was friendly to us last week, falling from 10 to 16 this week seems fair.
The AP poll had us at 13 which seemed low to me then--will be interesting to see how far we fall.
The Coaches put SC at 10, jumping them up 4 slots. I see why they should pass us, they jump past UCLA that has not been dominant, and past Ohio State which lost to Virginia Tech. But they also passed Michigan State--which seems harsh on MSU. Meanwhile, Oregon doesn't move after beating MSU.Â

Not that it matters, but I think the Ducks should be #1. They beat a top 10 ranked MSU.Â
