Though Stnford's defense is great, it's not forcing any turnovers.  Usually great defenses force them.  So what gives on that front?  I'm fairly certain Stanford is going to have to score on defense to beat ND.  The good news is Stanford has a good history of scoring on defense at that stadium, including the last two Stanford appearances there.

I think that's one reason to be optimistic moving forward, the bad luck should reverse at some point.

We don't need defensive turnovers to beat Notre Dame.  We just need more consistent execution in the red zone.  I saw the Syracuse - ND game, and they are very beatable.

We've all seen plenty of examples of a DB going for an interception and giving up a big play. Or a defender trying to force a fumble missing a tackle. I don't know if this defense if consciously focusing on, well, the defensive aspect of defending to the detriment of forced turnovers. But if it is, I'd say it's working. Two touchdowns allowed through four games is pretty darn good.
