EDIT: to say nothing about how impressive it is to be a type 1 diabetic and play soccer. Definitely more tricky to maintain blood glucose in soccer, a free-flowing game with relatively few breaks, than, say, it was for Adam Morrison and basketball.

I had no idea Morris was diabetic.  Certainly an impressive accomplishment.  BTW, is it just me or does it seem that there is a greater proportion of elite athletes with Type I diabetes than the general population?  It may be bias (we certainly hear about elite athletes with DM in pieces like the one about Morris), but I also wonder if his point about the disease enforcing discipline in diet and conditioning.
