I still cannot get over how much of a bullet we dodged when Winston decided to go to FSU instead of coming to Stanford.

Why? Stanford Prison Experiment: bad barrels make bad apples. If Winston comes to Stanford we're probably talking about what a good kid he is. FSU's environment is demonstrably toxic, it's not even a little surprising that susceptible kids develop god complexes there.

Then again, it's possible that he's just a shithead to the core. But I doubt it. He seems earnest, but let down by those around him. Jimbo Fisher is, IMO, the one who's the real villain here, by allowing that toxic culture to develop in the name of a few W's.

The championship game will be an SEC free zone. In the BCS system that would not have been possible. The traditional PAC12-BIG bowl game will happen after all, just not in the Rose Bowl. I like the Ducks chances against tOSU.

Some things heard on ESPN while doing stuff on my computer:

1.  One of the guys on ESPN's panel floated the theory that Alabama lost because of Lane Kiffin's play calling. I thought some of you might enjoy that.

2.  Several Ducks players got in trouble after the game for taunting Jameis Winston by doing the tomahawk chop while chanting "no means no". No names were given. I assume internal discipline will not include sitting out the next game.

Bama lost because they're not that good.  I used to have Bama-tinted glasses despite despising the $EC.  But if you can't take advantage of a third-string QB (RS soph) with almost zero D1 game experience, you're not that good. 

Bama's not chopped liver, but they got exposed today.

UW made a game of it, but criticizing the Pac-12 for UW losing would be like giving the 2-5 SEC West credit for Arkansas winning.

Still 6-2 with a good shot to go 7-2.  Even 6-3 is a world better than any other conference.  Yes, the matchups were favorable which is what all the East Coasters will say.  But the theme of this college football season is that the B1G and Pac-12 are catching up to the SEC and they better take notice.

No, the Huskies were one touchdown favorites.  This was a real down year for Oklahoma State, who needed an overtime win against Oklahoma in Bedlem just to become bowl eligible.
