Last year, Clemson landed two Watkins Award finalists -- Richard Yeargin and Chris Register -- plus a running back who was on Stanford's watch list -- Adam Choice. This year, Clemson landed Christian Wilkins and Garret Williams -- Stanford's top targets at NT and TE, respectively. At least 4 of these guys reported Stanford offers, and although I don't know whether any of these guys actually gained admission to Stanford, the fact that Clemson landed these 5 guys still seems noteworthy. I don't remember that kind of overlap ever in the past. I also don't know much about Clemson as a university, other than the fact that its a public school in South Carolina that has tended to finish second (roughly) in the ACC for the last few years and has a decent, but not great, ranking in the U.S. News rankings (for whatever that's worth). For a kid who has the option to attend Stanford, what's the attraction?
