I think a point that we aren't focusing on here is player attitude.  Has Dawkins lost the confidence of the players or not? I don't know the answer to that but disgruntled players lead to coaching turnover faster than disgruntled fans.  If the players believe in Dawkins, then it is easier for Muir to believe in Dawkins. If players are having secret meetings with the AD complaining about Dawkins and the future of the program, a change could be coming.

Last year, NCAA tourney.  This year NIT. Two previous years NIT including one championship. Ergo: We are a consistent postseason tournament team with lots of potential upside.  The phrasing or framing "postseason tournament" makes it seem more accomplished than it is.

We feel urgency in the need to change  He could look at it as a solid "floor" below which we don't fall.  Of course, fans see it as a minimum acceptable standard of performance above which Stanford/ Dawkins seldom rises.

By the standards of the previous 20 years, NIT is below the bar, #10 seed is barely meeting the bar.  Even if you give him the first two seasons, doing "good enough" once in five seasons is not good enough.
