A very helpful day down there in Texas at the NCAA Gymnastics meet.
Stanford finished 3rd in the afternoon session to advance to the Super Six - Hello NACDA Points!
UCLA finished 6th in the afternoon session. That will give them far fewer NACDA points than last year in this sport.
For Stanford a sub-par women's effort really won't matter much at all since Stanford will have a few 60+ point efforts that will not count. For UCLA though, each finish matters as it is probable that each tally will be included in their final score.
A tie for 7th will provide 68.25 points for UCLA, far below their potential tally for sure. Stanford will post at least 73.5. The incremental points for Stanford are helpful, but the inability for UCLA to bank 90 or 100 is rather big.
The Stanford women weren't that far below the tallies from session leaders Utah and Florida, so who knows what type of success they might have tomorrow.
