I'm not entirely surprised.  Akina is a former QB, and I have heard Richards say multiple times that this gives him an ability to help coach the players to think about what the QB is thinking as he makes his reads.  This gives the DBs more of an ability to both anticipate - and deceive or force a QB into making a throw that the read says is there but really isn't.


I love that.  It's the kind of head games that smart kids like ours should win at more often than not.
