I think Harbaugh does love Stanford but who knows what will happen when someone waves a wad of the very largest bank notes that only the NFL can offer under his nose?   Not me....

If money is what motivates him, he should take the $3mil-a-year contract that Stanford is offering him, at least for a year.  In order to lure him away, another team/university would have to beat his current contract, which is a relatively paltry $1.2mil per year.  If he\'s making $3mil per year, they\'ll have to offer him something in the $4-5mil range to lure him away.

(Obviously, I hope he stays for longer - this is just me being pragmatic)

Possible that RB Amir Carlisle\'s commitment could come unglued because of Mike Singletary\'s failure.   Carlisle\'s dad is on the 49ers S&C staff.  Often the whole staff assembled by the old coach goes.   If the sacking gets wholesale and the family ends up moving to the next job, Carlisle may want to stay close to them.   If he signs an LOI,  then the family moves,  he\'s stuck with us.   Or, maybe none of the above will be in play.
