Momentum swinging towards Iowa. Just took the lead and then grabbed a steal with a chance to extend. Defense and rebounding improving. 58-54 Iowa with 5:29 remaining.

quick question for next year (though don't want to be premature): does anyone have a sense of whether the Pac-12 intends to continue to have the WBB conference tournament in Las Vegas beyond 2022? The current agreement is through 22 only (and was announced in Oct 2019).

The officials let the Creighton - Iowa game descend into maul-ball. I hope Stanford doesn't get those officials. Maybe Stanford will do well under such a situation, but it ignores skill and benefits rough housing.
Did you see the dramatic flop by Clark with 7 seconds left in the game? The officials (rightfully) weren't sold, but it was a home game.
As for FGCU - Maryland, the higher ranked team are the beefy, bigger players that are throwing the other team around. The officials are now trying to keep it more contained.

I just listened to Adia Barnes comments about West Coast kids staying on the west coast rather than all going to UConn plus kids recruiting their friends to play together (which reminds me of Miles and Citron at Notre Dame). I also wonder if the fact that there were fewer OOC games played due to CoVid cancellations may have decreased the accuracy of some comparisons/assessments. Thoughts on these or other contributing factors? Of course, there's always TV and the Bueckers-Clark hype.

South Carolina has scored only 31 points in 3 quarters of basketball against Miami. Miami has scored 15. Both teams struggling on offense.

I would add also that there is not a lot of experience playing in the NCAA tournament in front of raucous crowds. It is a different experience than the last two years and some teams may react well and others poorly.
On the other hand, one undeniable advantage that we have is the recent experience of winning at the highest level in very close games. We are unlikely to fold, give up, or become intimidated as we might had our team not had the experience of last year. Let's hope we can put four good quarters together for 5 games in a row.

Maryland took care of FGCU fairly easily after a close first quarter, and it seems Texas is doing the same to Utah. Rory Harmon scored 21 points against us as a freshman playing in her 2nd game, and she is doing quite well against Utah with her impossible-to-defend mid range pull up jumper.
