Outside Topic OT: Bomb Cyclone

When you look at the forecast and it goes from 54 to 24 in 12 hours, you know it's gonna suck. Here in Central CT, it's suppose to rain 2 inches while in the 40s-50s, then it's gonna stop and drop into the teens. Any water that doesn't dry up will freeze, making walking outside treacherous. The power company called warning about high winds and possible power outages due to a wind advisory from 1am to 7am, for 20 mph with gusts to 50. There are few things worse than losing power in a cold climate so I'm just praying to the weather gods to keep the power on, grateful some rogue assholes aren't bombing the power infrastructure like in Ukraine. Ugh...

A few decades ago, I used to live back east like you guys (Laurel Maryland to be exact). I worked at an army post, and the parking/public transit situation was a joke. It normally took 15 minutes to walk from my car to the outer door of the building.

Up here in the Seattle area we have a bit of a snowscape. And speaking of the midwest, some people from there think that because they've driven on icy conditions there they can handle this with no problem. Here's somebody who discovered otherwise:
