Stanford in the NFL - BostonCard - 11-05-2017

Christian McCaffreys first rushing touchdown... on the option.

PS this seems like a play that could work for us with Love and Scarlett.

Re: Stanford in the NFL - BostonCard - 11-09-2017

Thursday night football...

Doug Baldwin catches a 54 yard pass after Russell Willson flirts with disaster.  You kind of have to see it to believe it.

https://twitter.com/FanSportsClips/status/928838087861452800/video/1

He now has 5 receptions for 95 yards.

On the other hand, Sherman is out with an injured heel.

Speculation is that Sherman may be out for the season.

Re: Stanford in the NFL - Trevmiesterj - 11-10-2017

Interesting article in the Washington Post on why TNF is too hard on the players due to lack of recovery time from the previous weeks game.  Sherman is specifically cited regarding an article he wrote in the Players Tribune about how he much he disliked TNF and how it injures players.  His injury last night is a sad example of that.

Ooof, speculation no longer.  Tough injury.  He was picked up mouthing "I'm done for the year" to Wilson on the sideline, so I'm not surprised.

Re: Stanford in the NFL - FarmBoy - 11-10-2017

He's a total warrior. To not only remain on the sideline, but also to hold a press conference on his feet after that game. You know his teammates are sincere in their respect for him. I ruptured my Achilles gen years ago. It was incredibly painful and a long road back to recovery. My left leg calf is still 30%smaller than my right.

Re: Stanford in the NFL - needle - 11-10-2017

Quote: Of the 31 players who sustained an Achilles tendon rupture, 21 (64%) returned to play in the NFL at an average of 11 months after injury. In the three seasons following their return, those 21 players saw significant decreases in games played and power ratings compared to the three seasons preceding the injury.

No idea if this science is backed up anywhere else, but if so I'm hoping that Sherman beats the odds.
