The Lauren Kim in the field is 13 years old from Canada, not the same as the Stanford alum from Los Altos.

oops! Maybe she should be Lauren Kim 2?
I'll try harder to stay in my lane.

Stanford's Lauren Kim is on the LPGA. She has struggled but done better recently making the cut in each of her last four events and winning at least $10K in each one

Has anyone confirmed Lucy Li is coming to Stanford?
I've seen no official word of this.
Rachel Heck, the dominant junior American for two years
coming into this one, continues to struggle.

Good day for the Cardinal in the round of 64.
Albane Valenzuela defeated Sierra Brooks (very tough player from Florida) 2 and 1. She faces Brynn Walker from North Carolina in the next round.
Andrea Lee rolled over her opponent Sabrina Iqbal from San Jose 6 and 5. She plays Arkansas's Brooke Matthews next.
Angelia Ye lost 4 and 3. She was behind the entire match.
Huuuuuuge comeback for Brooke Seay. She was 4 down with 4 to play. But after a birdie-par-birdie-birdie run, the match was tied. Seay won on the 22nd hole. She plays a 16 year old commit to Arizona in the next round.

Valenzuela birdied 16 and 17 to turn a one down deficit into a 1 up win. She faces Megan Schofill from Auburn in the round of 16 this afternoon.
Lee won the 1st hole and never trailed. She pulled away for a 4&3 victory. She has the most anticipated match of the afternoon vs. Alexa Pano, 14 years old and the #1 junior golfer in the country.
Seay had a 2 up lead after 11, but jacked short putts on 12 and 13 to fall back to all square. You can watch her match live now at

Valenzuela rallies from one down after 15 to win one up, goes three under over her final 15 holes;
Lee wins 4&3, plays one under;
Li win 5&4--f
our under.
Seay is tied after 13.

Seay birdied 16 to take a 1 up lead which she protected with pars on 17 and 18. She won 1 up and will play Gabriela Ruffels from USC in the final round of 16 match.
Fox Sports 1 will have live coverage from 1 to 4 pacific today.

Valenzuela was solid in winning her match 4&3. She advances to the quarterfinals vs. Aneka Seumanutafa from Ohio State.
Seay ran out of gas. Perhaps she was "ruffled." She lost to Gabriela Ruffels 6&5.
Lee and Pano played a fantastic match. They made 11 birdies in regulation between them, including 8 on the back 9. Lee was 3 down after 8 holes, but played 5 under the rest of the way to tie the match with a stellar, pressure-packed 18th hole. She was 1 down, but drilled a drive and 6 iron to 15 feet then rolled in the putt to send the match to extra holes. On the 20th hole, Lee nearly chipped in for eagle which would have won the match. The birdie was conceded. Then Pano with all of the pressure on her rolled in a 5 footer for birdie. On to the 21st hole. The match continues . . .
On the 21st, Pano had a 15 footer for birdie to win. She left it just short. On the 22nd, Lee had an 18 footer for birdie to win. She missed as well. On to the 23rd . . .
on the 23rd hole, Pano drove it in the rough and could not recover. Her par putt came up short. Lee was middle of fairway, middle of the green, 2 putts for the win. Lee advances to the quarters against Lucy Li!

An Ohio State sophomore, 57th
A USC sophomore, 52nd
An Ababama senior, 445th
two Stanford seniors, Lee 2nd, Valenzuela 5th
and Lucy Li, 4th
I follow junior golf and womens golf
and had never heard of the
first three golfers listed above.

Lee is two under and five up under par against Lucy Li.
Lee may have to face Gabriella Ruffels of USC in her semi,
a solid player, #52 in the world.
Valenzuela is four under and two up.
She is a strong favorite to win her semifinal,
facing the winner of #543 vs. #2064.
Why is the Stanford Athletics website silent on this?

Valenzuela closed out her opponent 4&2. Stanford will be on both sides of the bracket in the semifinals tomorrow!

They're probably spending all of their time trying to figure out how to explain "NEXT starts >>> NOW"
It almost makes one nostalgic for "We Work"...
RE: Womens Golf - US Amateur -

Ruffels it is. I would put it: Ruffels, a solid player, has the daunting task of facing world #2 Lee in the semifinals.
If Next is now, then what is next?
