2019 Opener Prediction - george - 08-14-2019

Hey Everyone,

Hoping that everyone is excited to try a little experiment where we push the MyBB platform to its extremes using a custom plugin (built leveraging MyBB's barely existent but fully impenetrable documentation).

Instead of posting predictions as messages in the thread, try using the little widget up above by clicking "Make Prediction". Instructions as follows:

Then fill in your prediction:

And after submitting, you should see the updated average:

A couple of notes:

You can still post regular messages to the thread, if you have problems / concerns, please add them as a message
You will be able to update your prediction all the way up to kickoff, so go wild with the comfort that you can change your prediction as more data emerges

I think the predictions are suppose to be rotating at the top of the page. Not working for me, only seeing the names, not the score predictions. Am I missing something?

it would be helpful if you posted the prediction game rules at the top of the thread.

Dumb and Obvious Question: Is the score showing by each team logo the average of the predictions?

I'm investigating -- this is a bug, the scores should definitely show up.

The only issues raised by members was the penalty for picking Stanford to lose and the bonus points for nailing the score. I think we should throw out that penalty rule and raise the bonus of nailing the score to 20 points.

For what it is worth, the Vegas line is Stanford -6.5; with an O/U of 49. That predicts a 28-21 (technically 27.75 - 21.25) score.

And right now the average of the 32 submitted predictions is 20 - 28. Therefore we are a bunch of chalk lemmings, OR we are as good as Vegas at predicting Stanford.

Don't know, but I predict Stanford 31, NU 21. We return the favor for the delta 10 debacle to open the 2015 season.
