Wild. It's too bad none of his medical staff can be trusted to tell the truth. A deadly infectious disease is apparently rampant throughout our executive branch.

Will he start doing rallies over Zoom? It will be much safer for the people of Wisconsin.
They have to be concerned about last Saturday's Supreme Court announcement event. There was a lot of mingling between White House and Executive Branch execs with the attendees (including the Notre Dame President).

If this is true (seems incredible it would not be, but then again who knows anymore) then the President has a ~5% chance of dying, perhaps higher given his BMI. Higher risk of critical illness without dying.
Maybe subtract a little considering he will probably get getting the best possible medical care.
Will he get remdesivir? Hydroxychloroquine? Can we trust whatever they tell us anyway? This is just stunning....

The nation needs two healthy political candidates on election day, and anything less will create massive chaos that is hard to joke about.
And given the timeline here it is not even clear either Presidential candidate is free of COVID19 given how many people were in the debate hall just a few days ago.
Sadly, given this POTUS hates negative scenario planning it is hard to believe there is a robust plan for what to do if POTUS45 is contagious.
I am VERY confident that he will insist the very best medical efforts are implemented even if those run counter to his own talking points.
However, the reality is he can't bully COVID. He can't cyber-bully COVID.
He is an old, overweight man with a number of other comorbidities.
COVID doesn't care if he is a billionaire or soon-to-be bankrupt.
Odds are decent he will be OK, but it is not an insignificant risk.
The VP debate next week takes on a very different perspective now.

Hope Hicks tested positive earlier and was around the entire Republican debate team including Trump. I'm not surprised. These people were not social distancing.

In his favor, are the fact that he was diagnosed very early (before becoming symptomatic) and he has the entire approved and investigational arsenal at his physicians' disposal. That means he can get remdisivir, and possibly monoclonal antibodies, now, which should have a maximum benefit. Indeed, he may have started receiving it prophylactically as soon as Hicks tested positive.
I assume Pence is also at risk. Not to be morbid, but he needs to be isolated, protected, and tested, as does Nancy Pelosi, who would be third in line. You hope for the best, but absolutely have to prepare for the worst.
Biden shared a stage with Trump for 90 minutes, unmasked, indoors just two days ago. I presume that preparations for that debate included ventilation, and they were certainly >6 ft apart.
Apropos nothing, stock market futures took a dive.

It took longer than I thought, but I was convinced he was going to get Covid. I thought he was going to get it after contact with Brazil's President. A White House staffer who served the POTUS tested positive, and he had a close call with someone else who was kicked off Air Force One after testing positive.
The implications of this range from a lucky recovery all the way to dying before the election. In between are being too weak to appear in public and Mike Pence assuming the Presidency before the election. What a time to be alive.
Will be fascinating to see how the "don't tread on me" crowd responds to this. Might they find their religion about mask wearing? Might they say if it's time for the POTUS to go, it's time for him to go, and that doesn't change their aversion to masks?

If he tested positive today, he could well have been infectious at the debate. They didn't shake hands I don't think, but there was a lot of yelling going on in an enclosed space. Remember the choir practice? Oh boy....

A young person with an active social life would not seem a good choice to work with a group of mostly senior citizens, without taking precautions.

If he were my patient, I would start him on remdisivir and at least one of the monoclonal antibody cocktails now and hope for the best. If he deteriorates, then I'd start him on dexamethasone, but probably only if he gets bad enough to go to the ICU. I would not give him hydroxychloroquine. I definitely would not inject bleach.

The death of RBG was something I had foreseen, and hoped would not happen - that is, not at this time. My dashed hope was that she would pass on either earlier or later - but not, God forbid, with six or so weeks to go with the election. Getting back to Covid, in this strangest and saddest of all years, I speculated that the final catastrophe would be one - or both - candidates dying within days of the election. That may come to pass. I wasn't thinking of Covid necessarily. (In 1960, the first election I remember, the combined ages of the candidates was 91 - Kennedy 43, Nixon 48. The combined ages of these guys is 151 - Trump 74, Biden 77, or so I've been told - haven't checked it out. Keep nominating septuagenarians and you're asking for trouble, virus or no virus.)

I'm not quite sure I believe it all, to be honest. This year has caused me to doubt a lot of institutions whose integrity I'd previously taken for granted.
