What a Cotton bowl! Tulane was down 15 with just 4 minutes left. Tulane scores a touchdown, safety, and a touchdown to go up by 1 with 9 seconds left.

Can't believe USC gave that game away. So many boneheaded plays at the end. That's 6 bowl losses for the Big 10 now (counting USC and UCLA). Go Utes!

And Caleb Williams was a beast. 460 yards and 5 TDs, and some unbelievable escapes to buy time when he should have been dead yo rights.
But in the end, that was just an unbelievable comeback. Tulane just hung around, and made some unbelievable plays in the end.

Unbelievable comeback. I saw the ESPN predictor tracker was 99.5% in favor of a USC win at one point when I glanced at my phone in the middle of 4th quarter.
Hopefully the Utes represent the Pac better in the Rose Bowl. Good riddance Trojans.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of Ungrateful Spoiled Children.
BTW, Tulane gives us hope. They were 2-10 last year. Maybe a similar turnaround is in our future...

Gotta have the horses. I'm assuming that Taylor can "whisper" and that Stanford supports him. Time will tell all.
This was the Wave's day, to be sure.
Full disclosure: I've wanted to dislike Caleb Williams all year, but it's impossible. He's a consummate QB
and a sterling kid.

Thanks BC, your thread title spoiled my chance to watch the amazing comeback by Tulane without knowing the outcome. I was recording the game and paused it to put some laundry into my wash machine. I glanced at the Cardboard and saw your title.
It was kind of cool watching the reactions of SC fans as the game slipped between their fingers. The entire broadcast was an anointment of Williams as a football God and what a shame that USC didn't make the playoffs. Tulane never gave up hope and played a full 60 minutes.
So good to see the team of mercenary Toejams go down like the cheatin' dogs deserve.
DON'T POST THE RESULTS OF THE ROSE BOWL GAME IN A THREAD TITLE! Some of us don't like watching commercials for prescription drugs and record the games to watch later.

Sorry, Marty; I got caught up in the moment. I will say that the fun in the game was watching the ending, and the ending would seem quite improbable even if I had known the outcome. I sincerely hope I didn't ruin it for you.
And, Gail, Williams is an incredible talent, but
this stunt kind of soured me on him, or at least ruined the illusion that he's a "sterling kid". Still, as my son noted, he's probably the best QB in the last decade in the Pac-12.

At least he explained the "Fxxx Utah" message. As he says, classy:
“You get to express yourself. I really only do it on game days. I’m going to see big events, which this is one of the largest events, so I knew that I was going to be wearing a lot of suits and everything like that, so I wanted to just go a little more classy, get some clear coat over it and rock that. It’s just a way to express yourself. There’s no hate. All love." and “It’s like when people write things on their wristbands or their tape or anything like that, their shirt under the jersey. There’s nothing too deep to it. Respect all the guys we’re playing against and going out there against. It’s just something I’ve done since high school.”

Condoms burst under pressure once again.
This fall the "Hollywoods" (aka usc) will get to play Washington and Oregon both of whom should have very strong offenses assuming their olines are on par with the 2022 season. Both the Huskies and Ducks are loaded with skill players with experience.

Think I posted awhile back that we should have been looking at Tulane's coach. They have an academic restrictive school and he's certainly demonstrated success. Happy with Taylor, thought Fritz deserved a look, too.

I remember watching my recording of the 1990 Big Game and sitting on the edge of my seat for the last couple of minutes of game time. The thing is, I’d been AT the game, so I knew exactly what was going to happen — but it was still a very tense (wonderfully so!) experience to watch it on the VCR. Still makes me smile to think of it.

The Tulane safety was scored on a tackle of former LSJU RB Austin Jones. He got clobbered several times during the game on runs and swing passes.
The most impressive Pac12 bowl performance was probably UW over Texas, even though Penix didn't have his best stuff. The Beavers pulverized a lame Fla. team.
Utah underperformed. Always great to see the Rose bowl telecast and the parade. Brings back great memories of being in Pasadena in 2000/2013/2014 and esp 2016. In Troy T we trust for a return visit soon!

The Notre Dame team that we held to 14 points scored 45 against the Gamecocks in the highest scoring Gator Bowl game in history.
